Northeast CruiZe to the Nationals...

My planned route to the event, on Google Maps.

I plan on leaving my office in Teaneck NJ at about 3:30 on Wednesday and stopping overnight in the Alexandria area.
Then leaving Alexandria about 8 AM with a stop near Roanoke, VA, and again near Knoxville, TN for gas, and then on to the final destination that evening, the Hampton Inn in Bremen GA.

Re: Northeast CruiZe to the Nationals...

The Z Nationals will always be in the Atlanta area because the event is put on/hosted by Z1.
ZCon moves around the country, please see this post...

Barry, since I'm coming down I-75, I can probably meet up with you at Stop D (Knoxville). I plan to get to the Hampton Inn Thursday evening (hopefully not too late). Bearing that in mind what time do you think you'd be at Knoxville?

My best guess at this point is about 4 PM, should then get us to the Inn at about 7:00.

That sounds great Barry. I got the pm for the cell number and I'll pm you, my cell number. My map and time appreciation might not be up to scratch, but I thought it would take longer than 3 hours from Knoxville to the Hampton Inn?

On another subject. I hope this doesn't come across the wrong way. I've found that using those FRS type radios very usefull for between car communications. Great for coordination of gas, food and bathroom stops. I was wondering if cruises/caravans of Z's do this as well?
Would it be a good idea to have a designated frequency posted on the main Z Nationals thread so that anyone seeing, passing or approaching another Z could try to make contact with them on that designated frequency. Is this a little too far fetched or a lame idea?
Thoughts???

Well we are driving TT Z32s

But yeah, maybe a little longer than 3 hours. I just remember on the drive down to ZCon in FL, we made pretty good time cruizing at around 70-75 mph.

True the speed limit on 95 through the Carolinas is 75 IIRC.
I'll be heading down 81 through VA for most of this ride.
I hope there is a decent limit, and leniency on the part of the law enforcement there

P.S. I edited the route to stop just southwest of Knoxville, so that those traveling south on 75 don't have to backtrack.
I also added a stop at Z1 before the hotel. I, and a couple of the guys I'm traveling with, will need to get teched for the track on Friday
