ZCON 2011 Recap! Show, Cars, Hooters Chicks!
Finally getting around to post some pictures William and crew put on a fantastic event. Great Venue, people along with very impressive rides. We were pleased to attend as Platinum Sponsors and enjoyed the cruise down south with some of our corporate rides.
Here are some of our pictures. More can be found on our corporate web-site and our Facebook Page as well: http://www.amsmotorsports.com/shop/ind/more/events.html http://www.facebook.com/pages/Absolute-Motor-Specialties-Inc-AMS-INC/117941908230125 Cruising to Savannah with our trailer (sponsored items and display), while driving one of our Z32's. We also decided to take the opportunity to put some KMs on one of our exotics since we actually prefer 'driving' our vehicles Pics of our Display within the reception hall: Pics from the indoor car show: Pics from the track and some shots with the Hooters Girls Some Random shots with Mad-Mike at the Crab Shack during our lunch there: Some Random shots: As mentioned just a fraction of the pictures of this great event! Check out our corporate site and Facebook page for additional pic of events etc. Enjoy! Vuk@AMS |

Great shots Vuk, it must have been nice to beat the heat with the indoor show this year. I like the body kit on your black Z... you should get a custom licence plate!

has anyone figured out why the 370 plastered with POWDERCOATER ad has such crappy colored wheels????? i mean they look spray painted. are they even PC'd? or are they just always dirty or what? dunno.. just IMO i guess if i was trying to advertise for them those would be the things id want looking best all the time.

Some of us are show and some of us are go, and thats cool with me. The reason they don't look that nice is that aside from Znationals and Zdayz, the car is not driven on the street at all and is track driven only. Those are my rain/street tires, and the wheels have been through several track days. If you think they look bad, you should see my wheels that the slicks are on. This is what they looked like when they were freshly powdercoated right after buying them and before they saw the track: and this is how bad the others look now. The front brakes on the 370 really need much better cooling. In this shot, the rears and fronts had been rotated. |

woops my bad, the pic was of my track wheels, I thought you were dissing on the other ones! doh!
Anyway, yeah, they are track wheels and those have about 3000 track miles on them since the powdercoating. |

cool. yeah, you can see a difference here in the pics, but in person, looking from a few feet away at Zdayz this year it looked liked they were spray painted because of the way the brake dust was coating them.
besides show or go, you forgot a third option- some are show AND go ;-) which is why i said ill actually be sending you parts soon, i won your raffle @ Znats. lol |

Actually, before I switched from just the front brembo upgrade to the stoptech trophy system, I actually melted the powdercoating on those two blackish wheels. If you look closely at them, the powdercoating actually wrinkled up. The problem with heat and powdercoat, on wheels or calipers, under heavy track usage is that the powdercoat softens when it gets hot and the brake dust embeds itself in the coating, so its a permanent stain, and why I recommend to any customers who track to just stick with satin black, because thats what they will eventually wind up with. |
