Re: Branson Z Fest 2014!
Art Singer just posted this on the Branson Z Fest Facebook page:
"Had a 1 hour plus talk today with Pickle. Went over a lot of what needs to get done asap. He has put this on the front burner now and things will start happening quickly. Michael should be posting sometime today to give updates." As we say in Missouri, "Show me!" |

Re: Branson Z Fest 2014!
Let's get this party started! #127 is reserved and I have already purchased a new cooler to replace the one our foster dog peed on. Cannot wait to park, pop open a cold one, light a cigar, put out my lawn chair and start putting on a couple coats of wax.

Re: Branson Z Fest 2014!
Pickle has finally broken his silence. Posted yesterday on Facebook:
"As many of you know the Branson Z Fest has always shown it's appreciation to those who have or are currently serving in our armed forces. It is my great pleasure to announce that this year we have partnered up with a couple of behind the scenes financial contributors. Their gracious donations will allow us to donate 100% of the funds generated from the first 50 paid registrations directly to Wounded Warrior Project. Come join us in Branson and your financial contribution could help change a persons life for the better. Please note: This year will be a rebirth for the event in a few ways. Different car show rules, adding a dyno event, adding a slot car tournament and changing the way we handle registration. Please have patience with us while we chase down some of the details of these changes. Registration should be open very, very soon. Sorry about the delay, but it will be worth it." |

Re: Branson Z Fest 2014!
About 13 hours ago, Art Singer responded on Facebook to someone asking when registration will be open:
"Should be any day now. I talked to Pickle today and he is getting the site ready. Working out the wording on the registration form." We'll see. We'll see. |

Re: Branson Z Fest 2014!
The explanation he offered was that each year he pays $300-$400 in credit card, etc. processing fees. Since he is making this a charitable event to raise money for Wounded Warriors, this $300-$400 could go to Wounded Warriors instead.

Meh....with all due respect to the Wounded Warriors project, thats a load of nonsense. I won't be registering for the event, a tee shirt isn't worth that kind of scratch anyway. I'm just going to get my room and show up to have fun with the Z Family. CC fees are part of the cost of doing business and you figure that into the price.....so I'm just not buying that one. I am not going to enter a car in the show this year anyway, so theres no real need for me to register. |

Re: Branson Z Fest 2014!
^ pretty much the same here too.
Since school has to go till the 9th or so it'll be tight for Boot and the kids to come up, then get back home and ready for school on Monday. Did I mention Skidmore bought the silk screen equipment to do shirts.

Re: Branson Z Fest 2014!
At this point I'm not going to register either. My plan now is to arrive Tuesday and return home Friday.
I think a lot of the $55 registration fee is for the t-shirt, car show trophies, ID badge, and goody bag. I won't be in the car show, I have plenty of my own ID badges, the WD-40 goody bag is donated free to him, so basically I'd be paying $55 for a t-shirt. Oh, and the $55 is for 2 people and I'm traveling solo. I am a fan and supporter/contributor to Wounded Warrior but can write my own check to them and, hence, get my own tax write off. |
