Sounds like youve got a nice setup. IF only my engine wasnt already in the machine shop... I took it to doug holmes, who runs fingerlakes auto machine shop. He doeas alot of the DIRT car engines, as well as many engines of other people I know. Maybe if I get a turbo model Ill look into doing the vg33 upgrade. Id like a 2 seater. Mine is a 2+2 N/A :-/ ...or I may just save my money for a Delorean... thats my dream car.
There are 2 white ones now, my brothers '84 and my '84. I scrapped the flat black '86, was too rusty. lol. I can source a turbo crossmember, ECU, and install a walbro 255LPH (better than stock, and only ~$100 new) fairly cheap. The NA wiring harness is fully compatible with the turbo engine and ECU, and any wiring changes needed if running a different o2 sensor (depending on ECU year) I'm fully capable of making having done them on my 84 NA harness to run an 86T ECU, though as of now I'm running an 86NA ECU with Nistune.
Dang well Id still have to get the turbo crossmember, fuel pump, ecu, wiring harness, etc. Yes Ill have to come out there and check out your z. Who has the white one?
Shoulda contacted me man, I woulda built you a VG33ET for a good deal. I've got a ton of experience with these cars. You should come by soon if you can and check out my current projects. lol
Hey dude its coming along nicely this year. The engine is getting rebuilt, I should get it back by mid May. I got alot of parts over the winter, ball joints, tie rods, poly bushings, struts, a turbo front lip spoiler, headers, and probly a dozen other stuff. It will be mechanically sound this year and hopefully next year I can get it painted. It needs a paint job desperately! Oh and I may get the seats re-upholstered this year. Theres a re-upholstery shop in Newark that I've heard good things about. How about yours? I would love to have a vg33T but oh well.
