Hey, good to hear you're having an easy fix. Yeah, I fixed it. Turns out it was a combination of the carrier bearing going out on the stock two piece driveshaft, and low gear oil in the five speed manual transmission. Gear oil from a shop (if you don't know how to fill it up) will cost you about $20, labor included. The driveshaft is easy too, for about $200, you can replace the driveshaft with a single piece lightweight aluminum one, which is a tiny bit more than the $180 for a brand new carrier bearing, and with the new driveshaft you get a bit more horsepower from the crank to the wheels, and slightly better MPG. If you just want a carrier bearing, I have brand new one that I'm not using anymore, since I originally replaced the bearing, and then 1,000 miles down the road, replaced the stock driveshaft. First, check the gear oil in the tranny, THEN have someone check the carrier bearing, since I found the low oil was the biggest problem. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask, I was a mechanic before I joined the Marine Corps.

Hey I saw your post about a rear end vibration, did you ever figure out what the problem was?
